There's a reason European societies for the next 1500 years were obsessed with them - the Romans did some pretty impressive things. They certainly liked their engineering, that's for damn sure. They themselves greatly admired the ingenuity involved in constructing the Pyramids, but regarded their own architectural marvels as the practical things - roads, bridges, sewers, theatres, aqueducts - fancy mill complexes too, one expects!

I miss having a toy boat that sailed down the gutters when it rained. Spent all day on the street getting chilled to the bone chasing it. I would go to town on this thing.
