$50 for a PS3 game.

The absolute state of AAA gaming is ridiculous.

Just a heads up to anyone that wants to play this, the switch version runs very well on the high seas. Just finished playing it for the first time and started rdr2

The crack has been released for PC already, found it on a few sites

50 quid? Nah, I'll pass until it's down to 15 quid max.

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 3 weeks ago

15?!
10 max

It'll be interesting to see the sales numbers on this. Surely it's been long enough that it'll only be the extra few stragglers and the few looking for a hit of nostalgia, right?

[–] zecg@lemmy.world 22 points 3 weeks ago

I'd love to play it, but I'm not paying more than 15€ for it, I'm very patient.

Undead Nightmare becoming suddenly easy to stream around Halloween will probably boost sales a bit too

I love good stories. RDR2 was a good story, and RDR1 is technically the sequel to it. And as I don't like consoles, especially not buying them for one game, I'll definitely buy it - if it runs on Linux.

RDR2 is a prequel. RDR is just that: ~~RDR2~~ RDR1

[–] 30p87 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah. As I said, RDR1 is the sequel and RDR2 is the prequel.

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

RDR1 isnt a sequel bro.
You wouldnt call the original star wars triology a sequel, would you?

[–] gamermanh@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 3 weeks ago

Its a retroactive sequel, yes

Sequel and prequel are relative terms. In the overarching view of the series release order: RDR1 is the prequel and RDR2 is the sequel

In the view of the game story, RDR2 is the prequel and RDR1 is the sequel

[–] smokin_shinobi@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It’s a sequel to Red Dead Revolver.

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago

Now that is something I can't talk much about because I only played the prequel and not gonna pay R* the current asking price for an old game.

But good to know.

[–] GammaGames@beehaw.org 0 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

erm ackshually

Why are you arguing about something that matters so little?

[–] mipadaitu@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Based on the numbers for the Dead Space remaster, I expect this one to do very well.

[–] smokin_shinobi@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

That was a remaster though. This is just a port isn’t it?

If Rockstar hadn't just royally screwed all Linux gamers over by adding that god-awful BattlEye anti-cheat to GTA Online, I might be interested. Now I see Rockstar does not care if I have access to the games I've purchased, so why would I want to buy more of their games? No thanks, especially not $50 for a 20 year old game. Rockstar won't be seeing a penny from me.
