A place to meme about the glorious ROMAN EMPIRE (and Roman Republic, and Roman Kingdom)! Byzantines tolerated! The HRE is not.

Explanation: The Rhine was used by the Roman Empire as a natural border to separate itself and the Germanic tribes. Barbarians, naturally, aren't people! Just filthy animals!
