there's been a recent growth of technical streamers that ive appreciated.
i dont like watching streams but i can at least understand them.
no hate for the people with accents, they're doing what is needed when no oen else is.
Post funny things about programming here! (Or just rant about your favourite programming language.)

if i see a person struggling with english and still trying to make educational content about niche topics no one else covers, i have the upmost respect for them
Thank the gods for these Indian men. They've saved me countless times with their simple solutions to incredibly specific problems.
I'll never understand consuming this type of information in video format.
Desperation is a powerful motivator.
Watching someone explain step by step something that you don't understand well in written format helps a lot. A lot of people have a hard time understanding pre-written code.
I could not be happier that you made this art into a meme, OP! :)
I don't know what's wrong with my accent. Even when I dont stress R and D people still know I'm Indian in gaming.
The Os, Us and the way indians speak (meaning, their choice of words and cadence) is usually pretty distinct as well.
Maybe the cadence? And I wouldn’t say there’s anything wrong with your accent but rather it’s apparent what your mother tongue is.
It's really not apparent what my mother tongue is. You can take a guess.
Since you put it that way I’d guess English taught by Indians for whom it’s a second language?
Most probably. It's amusing to me how people with different mother tongues end up with the same accent.
Also my mother tongue is urdu.
Probably because you are polite. Try trashtalking more. It seems the thing to do these days if you’re trying to pass as a white middle schooler boy.
Nah. I don't play in Indian servers cause they are the most toxic ones lol. White middle schooler boy is an old stereotype. Now every kid is doing it.
As an Indian, ...
Man, tutorials kinda' suck, you know? I'm a documentation guy. Also ~~an OOP enthusiast~~ [ https://dataorienteddesign.com/dodbook ] kinda' guy.
I hear only the lightest Indian accent and smash my head against the screen.
I wish I can embed audio on Lemmy just to annoy you with my accent xD.
There must be a huge variety of Indian accents given the large geographical area and bonkers number of people, but we (in America at least) only think of one stereotypical accent. I presume it annoys people to be lumped in with whichever group actually has that accent! Like Austrians probably don't love that the only Austrian voice anybody knows is Arnold Schwarzenegger, who comes from a very rural area and has that accent, apparently.
I have some Indian friends, I think I'm good :D
Because you want to consume the content so intensely?
Of course
Worse than Indian accents only are southern state accents. Gtfo of my recommendations, redneck.
You can't choose where you grow up. :(
Personally, I like the southern twang.
It feels almost lyrical
But you can choose not to talk.
But you can choose not to talk.
Modify this to be less funny but relevant:
Ludwig Boltzmann, who spent much of his life studying statistical mechanics, died in 1906, by his own hand. Paul Ehrenfest, carrying on the work, died similarly in 1933. Now it is our turn to study statistical mechanics.
various obscure Indian Engineers have spent their lives learning shitty Business Software, just to make ends meet have created works to share that information and to line their own pockets. Now it's your turn to learn shitty business software so that you can make ends meet.
I am desperately trying to get a new fucking client and fighting the urge to drink myself to death
People who do this are heroes!
I fully appreciate people who put themselves out like this, especially in subjects which don't necessarily have a wider reach.
Thank you all, no matter your accent.
