Why does it dip at night?
Do people actually stop playing factorio, just to sleep?

[–] kuberoot@discuss.tchncs.de 10 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Oh, no, that's just the dip during working hours for the other timezones

I had to pause and drive to work, 20 minutes of downtime.

I long for the day where one doesn't need to put steam into offline mode for their commute.

[–] Sabata11792@ani.social 4 points 5 days ago

Shitty tethered internet ruined the work day. Cloud save

Aah

Do people actually stop playing factorio, just to work (on something else than the factory)?

[–] bazus1@lemmy.world 35 points 5 days ago

The factory must grow.

[–] barkingspiders@infosec.pub 30 points 5 days ago

Totally deserved, such a great game.

Two days? Impossible. I installed space age within moments of it being available and that was only like two hours ago. Right? right?

On the plus side. Automated red and green science!

You're making a joke, but I don't get it.

I bought and installed Space Age about 24 hours ago, and I'm certain I wasn't the first.

So what's the joke? I'm sorry I'm missing it.

Just playing on the idea that once you start up a new factorio map the days and weeks blend together and time passes without you noticing. Or at least for me :)

[–] sxan@midwest.social 4 points 5 days ago

Ah, thanks!

The joke is when you play factorio time dissapears

[–] killabeezio@lemm.ee 4 points 5 days ago

It's like playing Civ, just one more turn.

FCOL, I don't even know what Factorio is. Guess I'd better check it out...

Should I kiss my marriage and job goodbye now?

[–] breckenedge@lemmy.world 21 points 5 days ago

Nah, you can put it down at any time. Your life I mean, not Factorio.

[–] Sabata11792@ani.social 8 points 5 days ago

Your new wife is the factory and your new job is to make her thicc

Such a great game. If you’ve never played - now’s a great time to start. They changed it just enough where all your old tricks either don’t work or are obsolete. Back to spaghetti factories and making blueprints!

Although I was SHOCKED last night to realize cliff explosives are all the way down the tech tree now. I need to redo my entire base now.

[–] Jayjader@jlai.lu 2 points 2 days ago

cliff explosives are all the way down the tech tree now

Kinda. You do need to get off-planet and land on a different one, but (imo) it's the most accessible of the new planets. You definitely don't need to go all the way down the tech tree.

[–] bazus1@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

I was SHOCKED

Elevated rail is the reason. I know you still can't build fabricators over it, but at least your rail system can run straight. Research that Refined Concrete quick.

[–] CodexArcanum@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I'm still trying to complete Satisfactory before I go back to old habits. Belt management is so unique in Factorio that I'm going to need a refresher anyway.

So they reworked the tech tree and added new planets?

[–] Redjard@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 5 days ago

And a fuckton of qol stuff. And the new planets each hold a massive amount of new content. In terms of technologies, but they also all have a fundamentally different crafting chain based on different available resources.
