Osaka Metro , as the name suggests, a metro system serving the Osaka City. The 400 series starts to service the Chuo Line since 2023.

Osaka Metro is better (in my opinion) than the JR Osaka Loop Line as the frequency is too little.

Boxy design = higher capacity?

Osaka is an industry city. The train is giving me some, industry vibing?

Boxy design = just plain beautiful design

But, as i know the Japanese, it surely also has technical advantages

The only thing custom about the design is the facade on the front. Otherwise, it’s built like every other train. No reason other than to give it a unique look.

The weird thing about it is that there are no service doors on the face of the end cars like almost every other train in west Japan.
