It's not really ironic that the right uses identity politics, and therefore the rich right leaning newspaper owners use identity politics to make the left look like people only support them because they identify as Democrats.
Yeah, I guess Kremlin shills can be counted as "the right" at this point
I believe it if they say that's how it's more often used, but the left by no means has a monopoly on identity politics.
I mean, it's not the side I see walking around wearing matching hats.
I mean you could read the title.

It says nothing about how only the left uses identity politics...
I'm agreeing with the article, using an example to reiterate the article's central message that there's a discrepancy between how the term is usually directed vs reality.
