If it was a Romney or McCain in the R slot I'd consider it but we had Donny one time and I'm not eager for a repeat.

Maybe folks should be pushing downballot picks harder and building a base before going for a leadership spot they'll just get shit on by congress in.

I totally get where you’re coming from. The idea of another Trump presidency is pretty unsettling to a lot of people. And you’re right — building a solid base at the local and downballot level is crucial for long-term success.

But for me, it’s not just about aiming for the top, it’s about getting real representation in Congress where policies can actually be influenced.

That's why I support candidates that reflect my values, even if they’re not in the mainstream, and work toward creating that base of support for the future.

Which is exactly why I said go downballot first. We know what happens when a president doesn't fall in line with his own party. Carter was a disaster which led directly into Reagan and I'm sure we don't need to hash out how bad that was. long term. Now take that and make that president not even have a party with a plurality of seats, let alone a majority, and it's a recipe for disaster.

I get what you are saying and I respect it. But for me personally, I'm just voting third party this year. I'm tired of waiting.
