Everett is withdrawing cash from a bank teller just in case someone is wondering about the context.

That guy is totally getting off watching Everett wail on that other guy.

I thought maybe the clerk was writing a letter for him. I was just watching that new Horizon movie last night, and Kevin Costner had a similar (presumably less violent) reaction to someone hanging around while he was trying to dictate a letter/telegram.

As for the movie itself, I think a plotline would have really added a lot to it.

Everett reads the paper and works in an office so we know he's literate.

There were special tellers cages for handling bank notes in old banks. They would lock the clerks in when the bank opened and let them out after the cash transactions were reconciled at the end of their shift. This seems to be a "modern" bank with counter service rather than a cage.

Very true, the movie was just fresh in mind.
