Was hoping the movie would have killed the franchise and force them to move on and make something original again instead of wallowing in IP rot.

Just stop it, that franchise has been dead (to me) since the launch of BL3
B2 was outrageously funny and I blame Anthony Burch who was a main writer and wasn't on 3.
3 wasn't funny and killed too many characters.
Maybe 4 will be funny.
I'm hoping they learned their lesson with 3. I liked many of the changes to game mechanics but the story and characters were awful. Plus the idea that basically every woman is a siren is just a little worn out.
Let's hope it turns out better than the movie hehe..
