Jokes on you, I always used the safety strap on the Wiiz even if I was just in the menu. My neurodivergent ass brain wouldn't let me hold the controllers without having the strap on

I'll have you know that I always use the Wii safety strap! Some call me weird for still walking around with that strap so many years after I sold my Wii, but I haven't broken a single TV since then...
Everyone has to learn what it's like to throw the wiimote directly at the tv for themselves.
The secret trick was to play on a CRT. Wii could only do 480 output anyway, and there was the added benefit of CRTs having relatively thick glass so the Wiimote plastic would shatter first before the TV screen broke.
The people that broke TVs were either using LCDs or Plasmas.
Ah, but were they using the safety condoms?
I use one of the wii straps on my phone and it has saved me from too many near drops

Unless you're playing bowling or tennis it wasn't really necessary all that often.
