Nothing in that article about the birds I find passed out drunk under the mulberry trees every fall. I guess I just always assumed it was recreational for them but maybe it's accidental?

That's them, at least that's some of them. I've found different sorts, including crows. I only pick a few handfuls of the berries every year, the rest are for the birds.
