I wanted to watch the women’s soccer medal ceremony as it was happening. But Peacock said “Coverage has ended” for that stream and no other stream or “channel” had it.

So yeah their coverage is pure garbage.

Using peacock to view the Olympics this year was fucking awful.

You go to the NBC Olympics website and find an event you want to watch, click the link... You get a 30 minute "free watch period" and it tells you to login to Peacock or your cable provider for more. Login to Peacock... It takes you to the Peacock Olympic homepage, instead of continuing to play the video you were just watching on the NBC Olympics website. EVERY TIME. It does not take you to the event you wanted, always the Olympic homepage.

The events aren't separated or easily searchable because Peacock is meant for TV shows and Movies, yet instead of making categories for each even they instead set them up like genres or some shit so the UX is abysmal. And all the fluff bullshit is promoted so you have to wade through the sob stories to get to actual events.

Then once you actually find the event you want it's actually part of a video like 500m freestyle and MORE... And your event is actually an hour and a half into that video.

The last NBC Olympics site wasn't amazing, but it functioned decently and was usable. Why the fuck did they make this abomination?

Should go with a VPN next time and go with cbc, 9now, bbc, etc. Been what I've been doing for past Olympics enjoying no commercials and direct feeds.

I didn't think that NBC would have made it worse than last time. They finally had something that worked, but I guess shooting themselves in the foot was better.

I wasn't surprised since it's felt like every Olympics has had people complaining about NBC. If it wasn't sports avaliable to watch it would be commentating and focus on sob stories people would tire of.

I would have been happy if they had just added all the direct feeds to their system last time. It worked good enough and you could actually navigate it. This year they made a big deal about how they would have the international source feeds too, without the NBC commentary. If they'd just done that then there wouldn't have been much to complain about. Instead this forces Peacock shit made it nearly impossible to watch what you actually wanted, when you wanted despite all the advertising about rewatching streams and events.

Coverage is shit. NBC is shit. Show the same 3 events all day unless you buy and watch at 2 am

Arrrrr mateys

I actually enjoyed the coverage this year, but I have peacock and didn't really watch the main streams. Watching replays is generally better, and they generally had balanced commentators instead of just talking about the US.
