Hi. Hopefully someone can help me out. I have installed Combustible as an Android Lemmy client but when I try to connect to https://slrpnk.net I get an error: "unable to connect to specified Lemmy instance!" I'm willing to try a different app but would prefer FOSS.

First time I hear of "Combustible". No idea what is going wrong, but since our server works with any client I have tried otherwise, I would assume the error is on their side. Most likely they have not yet updated to the latest Lemmy API version.

We host a nice mobile client here by the way: https://voyager.slrpnk.net/

You can install it as a PWA, so that it acts very similar to a normal app. Just open it in a mobile browser and select "install" or "add to homescreen" or so from the menu.

Exactly! Works very well.

Try Eternity. It's FOSS, repository is on Codeberg.

I'm replying from the Eternity client. Brilliant!

I've been using Thunder. It's honestly been pretty good.

I also keep Voyager as a backup in case Thunder ever disappears. It also comes as a PWA if that's your thing.

I like Thunder too, especially since it's cross platform on Android and iOS / iPadOS. I get the same user experience on my phone and my iPad.
