The one at my store is a guy with a walker, who definitely wouldn't really be able to stop anyone, but maybe could call it in 🤷‍♂️

In the UK, they just use life-sized cardboard cutouts of police officers. Apparently it has a measureable effect.

After a shoplifting sting conducted by the local police showed that piles of merchandise could have been taken away...

Wait, so there was no evidence of actual shoplifting—the local police just did the shoplifting themselves and then warned the store about it? That sounds like a cross between concern trolling and racketeering.

we used to have a sweet old lady with a big Afro looking haircut full of white hair named Ms. Frosty. I think she passed away because we haven't seen her in like 5 years :(
