I don't know about Lee, but a lot of politicians in the confederacy should have at the very least not allowed into government. Instead the north pardoned them and allowed them to stay in positions of power which led to legislation that continued to oppress black Americans and furthermore, mythologies were built by confederate apologists that painted the Civil war as war of northern aggression and that it was about states rights (see daughters of the confederacy who popularized the confederate flag we see today along with commissioning a lot of the confederate statues)
Fire Memes for Traitor Haters
Where we meme (joking in tone and detail, serious in sentiment) about General Sherman, the Civil War, and how the secesh traitors had it coming.
RULES

No bigotry. The Union, or at least the part of the Union WE support, fought AGAINST that shite. We are anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic, anti-transphobic, and in general anti-bigot here, even if not all the lads in Union blue uniforms were.
-
No Confederate sympathizing. Anti-democratic racist slaver traitors don't deserve shit.

I’d recommend the Behind the Bastards episodes about Lee. They’re recent - from this year IIRC and it’s like how can he be even more of a POS than you already thought he was…dude was a piece of work.
Sadly, the surrender terms at Appomatox agreed to a parole for his officers and army with immunity from prosecution.
