Hi all. Due to parts shortages and COVID closures at our manufacturing facilities, the official Steam Deck Docking Station is delayed. We're working on improving the situation and will share more info when we have it. This has no effect on production schedule and reservation windows for Steam Decks (different parts, different factories).

What's the catch with the official dock anyway? Shouldn't basically any USB C hub do the trick?

Heard about that company as well. Doesn't raise any red flags or so on my part, but I still can't tell why this is superior to any cheap regular USB C dock, except for the SSD - which you then would only have available if plugged into the dock? What's the use case for that btw? Just in case that this is not clear, I'm not trying to be sarcastic/salty, but genuinely curious.
