MODERATORS

Mining magnate Gina Rinehart is urging politicians to shift further to the right and adopt US President Donald Trump’s polices as she blames voters and the “left media” for the Coalition’s disastrous election result.

I honestly wonder if she just wants to ruin everything for her own benefit, or she is actually lost in the sauce.

What "left media", Gina? Don't you have enough fucking money yet?

[–] pappabosley@lemm.ee 6 points 7 hours ago

I give it less than a month before Dutton is working for this piece of shit or sky news

[–] redwattlebird@lemmings.world 6 points 8 hours ago

Yes Gina. Go further into the weeds. Atta girl.

[–] Sunshine@lemmy.ca 8 points 12 hours ago

Gina needs to get lost!

The sky propaganda said this after the last election, the libs put Dutton as leader and did just that. Historic loss for them.

Again they are saying it now. I look forward to the libs following the advice more and getting reduced to a minor party.

Problem with that is that it would shift the overton window.

A woman who has literally not done a fucking thing to earn her wealth, has intentionally bribed witnesses (and never went to prison for it) and openly influences elections to get what she wants. Ever her children are against her.

She need to be taxed to the maximum - imagine what Australia could be without her accumulated wealth.

[–] pappabosley@lemm.ee 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

She also wanted to use underground nuclear explosions to speed up the mining process. She is stupid and cares nothing more than building and hoarding her wealth, with no care who dies to do it

She is one of the few billionaires who does pay tax though.

Australia needs its own version of the push for 2% annual tax on wealth for anyone worth over $10m.

eg https://patrioticmillionaires.uk/ and the US sister organization.

Ya know, I've never actually seen a real photo of her before, but I was scrolling and thought "is that that lady with the portrait?" And wouldn't ya know, it is. 10/10 for capturing her likeness and essence. Must be tricky considering the little I know about her seems to indicate she has no soul.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 1 points 3 hours ago

Her salty response to that portrait was pretty funny.

[–] ace_garp@lemmy.world 3 points 23 hours ago

The soundtrack for this portrait.

Blames voters for voting how they want, instead of how she wants. What a cunt.

[–] SolarMyth@aussie.zone 1 points 2 hours ago

That's the problem with democracy - too many voters.

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 19 points 1 day ago

To be fiar I do this as well as Greens voter :)

Its just The Greens support taxing her and her billionare bell end buddies higher to pay for dental in Medicare, more social housing etc etx something Australian's don't seem to want, hence my push back against voters as well :)

The difference is I just what to help all Australian's what she wants is to help hereslf.

[–] dumbass@leminal.space 18 points 1 day ago

Gina would nuke Australia into a crater if it could make her richer.

[–] SpicyLizards@reddthat.com 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What left media?

Also, you protested this lovely portrait, gina: That monster

[–] Salvo@aussie.zone 5 points 16 hours ago

She is right, it is the Voters that they saw through the lies and bullshit that her extreme Right-Wing media was spouting.

[–] TassieTosser@aussie.zone 20 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Leftist media? In Australia?

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 12 points 1 day ago

Well Dutton did say The Biardian and ABC where left.

Left of Sky is perhaps what she mrans but aa you pointed out there zero left wing media in Australia.

To note Peta Credlin said much the same.

[–] No1@aussie.zone 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What's her thinking here? Try and get some of the ~8% from One Nation/Trumpettes?

By shifting right, there's a risk more Libs from the centre jump ship to teal or something else?

[–] skribe@aussie.zone 25 points 1 day ago (1 children)

She lives in a bubble. Same as Bolt, who also blamed the voters. They've removed themselves from the mainstream, and can't fathom the masses thinking fundamentally different from them.

Even a walloping with the clue stick, like what happened on Saturday, isn't enough to shake their faith that they're right. That's why they blame the media, the left, the immigrants, anyone but themselves.

[–] DarkDarkHouse@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 1 day ago (2 children)

On Sky News, Peta Credlin said the Liberals should’ve leaned more into the culture wars. In quick retort Murray Watt welcomed her strategy. They’re in denial.

[–] pappabosley@lemm.ee 1 points 6 hours ago

They think they didn't lean into the culture wars?

[–] Salvo@aussie.zone 1 points 10 hours ago

I’m pretty sure that all the other parties would welcome the Liberals leaning into the mythical Culture Wars.

It would make it so much easier to eradicate them from our political landscape.

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Do we on Lemmy need to amplify either this corrosive billionaire or the shaking my head newspaper?

[–] spiffmeister@aussie.zone 32 points 1 day ago

This corrosive billionaire puts a lot of money into Australian politics, I think it's important to know what you're enemy is thinking.

[–] CurlyWurlies4All@slrpnk.net 8 points 1 day ago

Know thy enemy

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 14 points 1 day ago

We need to be aware that they seek to further shift the Australian media landscape to the right and to remain vigilante against their misinformation and propaganda.
