Just looked it up because I do watch, but clearly not on the same level as others. I had no idea who the original was and from the screenshot I saw i doubt I would have even noticed if I did. They look similar enough to me. I can't see why people would have a problem with any of this, I got better things to worry about.

Honestly it should not be that big of a deal just tell the story you need to tell with the resources you have. But for all i know the lore nerds will want some storyline that explains why Organa looks different. Like how's we got the stupid storyline of why TOS Klingon's have smooth heads and look human.
lore nerds will want some storyline that explains why Organa looks different.
I can make up a reason right now.
In Attack of the Clones it was established that a Senator may leave the Senate and have someone else act on their behalf. We saw this when Senator Amidala left Jar Jar Binks in charge. While he then has the title of Acting Senator Binks, or more commonly Senator Binks.
In Andor we have a similar situation. When Mon greets Benjamin Bratt's character she says "Senator Organa", but this is not Bail Organa. This is in fact a brother or cousin of Bail Organa. Mon is aware that Bail Organa is currently sick (not really, he's doing some secret Rebel stuff, but that's a secret), but she still greets him as Senator Organa because that is the polite and proper thing to do.
Now, you're probably wondering, seconds after the above scene Mon's husband Perrin says, "Bail", which really seems like it must be Bail Organa.
We have two options here. The first is that when he said "Bail" he meant "Bayle". I know the subtitles report differently but it's all part of a larger scheme. Disney wants us all to think it's "Bail Organa" but it is in fact his brother/cousin "Bayle Organa". This is a trick so when they kill him next episode it will be a shock, only for the real Bail Organa to appear.
The second option, and more likely, is that Perrin is just being a dick. That fits his character. He calls him Bail as an insult. He knows he isn't Bail and is just filling in, so after Mon respectfully calls him Senator Organa, he uses the false name "Bail" to mock him.
Now keep in mind this nonsense only works if Benjamin Bratt never makes another appearance... Which he probably will next week.
I was confident Jimmy Smits would have done anything to reprise his role.
I assume he'll have a bigger role in the next chunk of episodes since the cameo was so small. It doesn't make sense to give the character a wink if it isn't the original actor.
That being said Benjamin Bratt makes for a good Bail Organa.
I like Ben Bratt, but he's half the size.
Especially since this isn't that much after kenobi.
Haven't gotten past 2e4 though, curious how it turned out.
"We have Jimmy Smitts at home!"
Apparently Jimmy Smitts is 6'3 and Benjamin Bratt is 6'2 so pretty damn close.
Unless Benjamin Bratt ate another Benjamin Bratt I think it will still be noticeable.
I guess technically this is a spoiler, so...

The article goes into it a little. It's a cameo for now. His appearance in this arc is literally 20 seconds of small talk. Gilroy wanted to drop the casting bomb now so people would be over it by the time he has something important to do in the 7-8-9 arc.
Fair, smart, and I think it worked.
By the time the scene was over I was basically 'yeah fine, that's bail now'.
HAHA I didn't even realize it until reading this. Nice
