The spikey succulent is a Euphorbia Trigona. We have one of those. It's one of the few plants we haven't killed. It could probably go more than a month without water, but weekly light watering shouldn't harm it. Just no more than that. The leaves are seasonal and will fall off and grow again. We have ours getting half light on our East window, but it has done well in periods of only indirect light. It doesn't require too much care and likes being root bound. They can grow very tall and narrow.

Can confirm there. I forget to water mine for weeks at a time and has only been re-potted once in around 15 years and is currently around 1.5m tall.
