DNC will throw the election before putting a progressive into the race

Y'all know there's still house and some Senate elections coming up next year right?
You know what would show America and the Democrats (and Republicans for that matter) that Americans are finally serious about a 3rd party candidate? Supporting and electing 3rd party candidates in the House and Senate.
Ok, I try to be polite, and I generally agree you don't win arguments by saying shitty things, but whoever downvoted this is either a bad actor or has rocks for brains. I'm sorry to be so crass, but it needed to be said.
If only there were elections being held between 2025 and 2028 with less at stake than a presidential election. That way Americans on the left and right could come together and prove to the establishment parties that they would actually show up to vote for a 3rd party candidate for a presidential election.
It would be such a shame if angry Americans used this information to get involved in local politics and promoted ethical candidates who weren't purchased by a corporation ASAP
What would a 3rd party look like? Only person that comes to mind is jill stein whos a russian mouthpiece
One that doesn't take corporate donations would be start.
Another method is 3rd parties forming locally as grassroots organizations and then forming a coalition party to back 3rd party candidates on the national level.
Sort of how you have a few caucuses in the Democratic Party like the Farm-Labor Part in Minnesota, or Independents who caucus with the Democrats like Bernie who could be peeled off to back a 3rd party of even just flatly Independent candidates.
Example of a 3rd party: The Democratic party refuses to back and fund AOC as a candidate. American citizens crowd source her campaign so she runs as an independent
This is why the primary will be so important, and why Biden basically handed the win to Trump by pushing Harris instead of having a primary.
It shouldn't have mattered who the candidate was. When the opponent is an authoritarian bigot intentionally harming minorities you do whatever it takes in the moment to triage the situation and prevent generational destruction. Then you march/riot...etc and demand change from whoever the Dem president is. I blame the absent voters for ignoring the bleeding patient from the drunk driver accident and instead standing to the side demanding no more drunk drivers.
Our entire system being like a hostage situation doesn't help, plurality voting is shit to begin with. I don't blame people.
Maybe, but the only way I can believe that is if we believe Biden was a far better candidate that Harris. Biden mopped the floor in the Democrats primaries everywhere they were held. Florida and Delaware were the only states that didn't hold them if I remember, and Biden had something like 87% of the votes for Democrats. We say they meaningless, but the last time the Democrats were in the same position was 2012 voting in an incumbent. Obama got 2/3rds the votes that Biden did. 8 million, vs the 12 million votes for Biden.
The delegates could have flipped when Biden left but didn't. Its a much higher likelyhood that there the issue was more people were not willing to vote for her for being a woman or being black. If people think that 1-2% of the voters aren't racist or sexist in Georgia, Michigan etc they are off their rocker. A 1-2% moved from Democrat to Republican vote was enough to lose states like that.
So if Biden had not run at all, and sent it to Primaries, would that percentage have been enough to get her not to win the primary? I kind of doubt it.
Gavin Newsom may sound smart, but he's got his hands in your pockets stealing your money to feed the rich, kinda like the current emperor in chief.
Newsom is a slaveholder
I love the hate the DNC gets now. I'm also confused how the DNC's mandate isnt to be entirely apolticial.
Of course not. They can't accept that their most passionate base actually wants progressive platforms, not centrist pop pandering. Dems are too worried about being "safe" and trying to steal votes from conservative-centrists. If they actually showed bills and votes to invigorate the actual progressives, they just might get some loyal backing.
If it is not Bernie, AOC I ain't going to vote. Also ain't voting for anyone funded by AIPAC.
--Maga fascist
Of course they will. Liberalism is a center-right ideology, they're closer to fascists than leftists.
Democrats would rather lose their power "temporarily" than lose their influence permanently with a progressive.
We need a third party like four months ago. We are running out of time to challenge the standing democrats.
If you don't like trump and you didn't vote, then you're to blame.
My country has compulsory voting so nobody has an excuse
Did you listen to the latest tiff between David Hogg and James Carville?
Carville really wants to push progressives out of the Democratic party while keeping their heads in the sand. I think his last rant was because Hogg wants to replace existing Dems (Carville says he should be replacing Republicans). However, I think Hogg wants to do this because these Dems aren't really doing anything and waiting to pick up the pieces from this Trump administration. I think agree more with Hogg that it's more important to show the people that you represent them rather than be like: "we're not the Republicans".
I'm not an entire fan of Hogg though, he seems a bit inconsistent but I agree with him here.
To be clear, people should have voted for the Democrats. We're all in the position we're in because not enough people did. Would you get what you want? No. But we still wouldn't be in the mess otherwise. I mean, assuming the election wasn't stolen.
That being said, all these older people that don't seem interested in fighting for their people need to be purged from the Democrats. I don't know if it's because they're really old or out of touch or what. There's a thirst for people to want representation for them to fight (as seen by the AOC and Bernie rallies). I think their inactivity isn't helping for the most part. Also, they need to get some more names out there.
and conspire to defeat whatever progressive is winning, even though they’ll be the only one that can defeat trump’s third term
Okay but the point is they should've been able to run a wet paper bag against Trump and win.
We have two corporate parties, the status quo and the controlled opposition. They occasionally switch labels but until we get the corporate out, we will never have a real choice.
AOC is a clear choice, I'd say Bernie but I'm already tired of old people in power.
AOC is young, in touch with actual issues, in touch with the generations that are moving the economy, knows the struggle since she used to be a waitress and so far I haven't seen her go crazy on anyone else's agenda or buying stocks and enriching herself beyond measure like damn old hag Pelosi.
AOC《》Jon stewart
Bernie as whip
The dream team 😍
It'll be Shapiro or Blinken. Its still all about the $$ at the DNC. Nothing else matters.
I still feel like the dnc is going to lean heavy into Buttigieg. He's young, an eloquent speaker, a sharp debater. He clearly is down to play ball with the dnc establishment as they want him to (stepped aside for Biden to get a cabinet position) , and they hope that he's baggage free enough (Kamala and her Marijuana prosecutions) that progressives will vote for him. Yes, he's gay, and the hardcore magats won't like that, but I think older suburban voters would rather have someone sane that's gay than insane and straight.
