yep, I wouldn't want to buy an OLED display second hand without a visual inspection or an iron-clad return policy. However I feel like there is quite a bit of value in OLED TVs to be had out there these days because OLEDs have been around for a while, people might be upgrading and others feel just as apprehensive about used displays. So if you have the time and opportunity to pick one up personally, it might be a great deal
Yup, you're right, I've had OLED TVs in my sight for quite a while. They seem to be ridiculously cheap compared to OLED monitors. Seems like you could get a lot of bang for your buck there. And cheaper OLEDs also mitigate for the burn-in issue somewhat, as you could just buy a new one if it ever becomes unbearable. How have you found things like text rendering to work on the OLED TV?
