This is marketing, pure and simple. There is no reasoning AI within any of these companies grasps.

I disagree. There are definitely people who sincerely believe in AI 'consciousness'. Ironically, they are usually the first to throw about terms like 'woo woo' in any discussions about human consciousness.

"Sincerely believe in" means nothing at all. None of the LLMs that any of the AI companies have demonstrated have actual reasoning skills because that's not how the technology works.

Its mimicry, and a poor form of it. These companies are talking about "reasoning, thinking AI" as marketing to keep the AI hype cycle going as the actual technology digs deeper into diminishing returns.
