No, it's literally a plot point, Dumpledore says to Harry at the end of book two that he's not like Voldemort because he chose to be in Griffindor

Yup gaslight the kid into believing he had a choice and that hat doesn't just look into every future to determine the best outcome for the hat's personal amusement.
