Recently listening to the history of country music kinda suggested Nashville is like that. They regularly ignored black artists and the few that did break through were usually using white sounding voices and/or names.

I think it was more of a metaphorical objection: "Nashville isn't this." Well, clearly, it is, because here's a picture of something that's happening in Nashville.
