Let the enshitification commence!

I am so tired of streaming and Everything-as-a-Service.

I miss Blockbuster and the 90s/early 00s. Granted I’m looking at it from a nostalgic perspective as I was a kid/teen, but it sure was nice and didn’t feel predatory. Maybe there wouldn’t have been rate hikes if it was Blockbuster vs Red Box, but in this era? Yeah Blockbuster would have enshittified.

Did you never have cable TV? We paid $100+/mo for 150 channels of hot garbage. You had to watch whatever was on TV at the time, usually just jumping into the middle of it. And every channel was absolutely riddled with ads every 7 minutes or so.

Oh yeah I had cable TV for a bit with some kind of bundle. The experience was terrible! But then again I wasn’t really a TV person, and still am not.

I just buy discs of my favorite shows and watch them when I’m in the mood for a show. Only traditional tv thing I watch these days is sports.
