From reading the comments, this is something related to star trek, but for people who've never watched the show, what is it?

LCARS is the name for the fictional user interface from the next generation era of star trek shows. There were 3 shows set during this era with 7 seasons each airing from the late 80s to the early 2000s. So there's a lot of star trek content featuring this design aesthetic which makes it popular among fans.
