A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The best ones are thoughts that many people can relate to and they find something funny or interesting in regular stuff.

I mean.......yeah. I'm unclear how this was a revolation to you. It would be like me saying "$20 is more useful than this rock I found!"
I mean, depends on the rock: granite: yes; diamond: probably not.
It also depends on the circumstances. If I'm being threatened by an animal, including another human, I'd rather have even the granite rock than $20.
