There are a very few SMBCs that use the gif format, so maybe that's why the site does it. I've been posting by hand so haven't bothered to do any conversion, but maybe if I script it I can throw in a conversion to png or webp
Weird. Reason I asked was because it broke my app, which doesn't support both zooming in and scrolling around while zoomed. Didn't realise that's the original format.
File a bug report!
Sync dev has been MIA for 8 months. This was the final straw for me to switch apps.
