Bike volumes will probably significantly reduce due to dangerous nature of biking among traffic, which is probably exactly what DoFo wants.
I'm not sure. I would bike on those streets before bike lanes, and the lanes have "taught" people how to ride bikes. For Bloor, There are side street routes east of high park/Dundas. College is ok. Short spurts on Dundas and Bloor (though this is high speed parts of those streets). After Humber river, west, there's more side street routes. Hopefully at least a painted lane still exists on those stretches, but it is not a parking area.
Yeah, I feel like someone should make bumper stickers that say something like, "If it was safe, I'd be on my bike instead, and out of your way."
