Sobering analysis.. but also what most of us that keep up with the news already know.
Forces slowly devolving, it's a war of attrition and the costs are not high enough for either side to trigger a collapse. And negotiation is what both sides seem to move towards, but what either side finds acceptable is still light-years apart.
