Don't you mean stickle bricks?
Also, these still exist. You could play with it now. So I don't see how it's a 'yearning to return to a past you can't return to'.
“you can still GO to disneyland, how could that possibly be nostalgic?”
I’m glad someone else said it. Sticklebricks!
It was BristleBlocks for me in the UK. Is Sricklebricks the US namem?
Stickle bricks are what they were for me in the uk during the 80s
I had some in the 70s, maybe different branding or parents called them by the wrong name?
Bristle Blocks in the US for me
Stickle Bricks were the original. Bristle Blocks (and others) were competitors’ versions according to wiki. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Stickle_Bricks
Ah, but do the new stickle bricks come pre-impregnated with play-doh, marmite, jam and snot?
I don’t think the experience would be the same without that sticky texture and combination of aromas.
Its more so about returning to that point in time and the general feel, not that you just need the toy back. Same with retro computing, you can purchase an old C64 or Atari, but not the same without the wood paneling, ugly furniture, and ashtrays.
