The easiest way to protect your system is not by installing an antivirus, but by hopping on Linux

Yeah, let's install Linux and ignore all things related to the security. If you are a new Linux user there's a good chance you will open your OS to the world because you don't know what you are doing and without the training wheels, aka antivirus you will regret it sooner or later.

Cost of Maintenance and Installation

Yes, Linux is free but it comes with a hidden cost - your time. I consider myself as an average Linux user but still I've decided to ditch Linux as my daily driver because I was tired of wasting time fixing things that broke randomly after every update.

Flexibility For Curious Minds

Well, if you have time to dig into differences between distros, good for you. If you want to have a stable and reliable OS, this point is just plain BS.

No Privacy Invasion

I respectfully disagree. Look for a geoclue.

Career Opportunities

Yes, knowing how Linux works gives an advantage but to make a real difference you would have to apply for a Linux specific sysops role.

Choice for Embedded Devices and DIY Projects

I tried running Windows on Raspberry Pi. It worked but the time I've wasted was not worth it. Just use Linux for that.

To summarise. If you want to switch to Linux to learn stuff, go for it. It's a great place to learn. But if you want to use it as a daily driver, make sure you have enough time to deal with a daily dose of Linux drama.
