Outstanding meme. Cool fact is that the wasps inject their eggs along side a virus, which specifically turns off the manduca's immune system for a bit. It then allows the immune system to turn back on. Since the eggs have been in there during the immune reboot, they're considered 'self' and not attacked by the immune system

Identification of this virus began in 1973, here is an article about it from 1997. - I suppose a lifetime supply of immunosuppressants is far more profitable than the system you are proposing.... but I like your system. It just is more elegant.
