"In the end, Sable agreed to pay Cloudflare $225,000, grant Cloudflare a royalty-free license to its entire patent portfolio, and to dedicate its patents to the public, ensuring that Sable can never again assert them against another company," said Terrell and Nemeroff.

Sounds like Sable has already been destroyed so thoroughly there wouldn't be anything left to sue.

Yeah except:

Five other companies that we know of sued by Sable – Cisco, Fortinet, Check Point, SonicWall, and Juniper Networks – settled out of court.

Then they are forced to pay out $225k and are "destroyed?" I don't think so. Sounds to me like the fucks behind this are taking their money and running, lest somebody sue the dogshit out of them like they deserve.

They still exist as a corporate entity and I wouldn't consider it cruel or malevolent to wholly eradicate them through patent troll litigation. It'd be rich. They're still sitting on dubiously-gotten gains and it doesn't sit right with me that stakeholders will be able to clean out all the pocket change under the couch cushions and walk away
