Nah, think it's a redo with modern animation like Spice and Wolf.
Netflix got the Ranma 1/2 rights? Well at least it isn't set to fade into obscurity.
It's being remade in Japan. Netflix will just slap their "Netflix Original" lable on it even though they weren't the ones who ordered it in the first place.

But why?
Why not? They remade Urusei Yatsura. Anything to wash the bad taste of the fanfiction of Yashahime out.
It's the cultural equivalent to breaking into a museum to steal a recalled glow in the dark YoYo!™ and attempt to sell it to an ipad baby.
It's not sane behavior.
