Last week, I tried to register for a service and was really surprised by a password limit of 16 characters. Why on earth yould you impose such strict limits? Never heard of correct horse battery staple?

When I was working on a password system a few years ago, I found some amazingly bad password requirements. One that stuck with me was it couldn't contain any two digit years (e.g. 08).
