My friends were the people injecting glow sticks... Arguably a pretty stupid way to die but this happened at an underage night club in the 00s. My friends who died were homeless children with abusive drug addicted families who either ran from the absolute failure of a foster care system that we have here, or just went straight to the streets knowing that they would end up in a worse situation if they were to seek help. Literally nowhere to go and willing to risk death for a little bit of approval.

My friends absolutely knew what they were doing was dangerous and could kill them... We all had known someone who died from doing exactly that... But when you've lived a life completely devoid of anything that resembles support the smallest positive reactions are like concentrated heroin.

It was fucked up seeing these kids who's desperate attempt to just be liked being turned into an entertainment piece. It's been a while but if I remember correctly the show left out that the people were minors so they could embellish on how dumb of a way to die it was... Or that children were being allowed to run around in a nightclub with glowing veins...

The whole thing was fucked, I never watched the show again. I realized that the whole thing is essentially just laughing at other people's trauma and that's not for me.
