omg! I took the Hamburg route over a decade ago and it was very interesting to watch the transfer on the train. But the tunnel sounds more sustainable long-term.

As of a few years ago, the Snälltåget service between Stockholm and Berlin went via the Trelleborg-Sassnitz ferry, so that may still be an option (there’s also an overland route, though it’s somewhat longer). I took this train around 2021 and it went via the ferry, crossing the Baltic in a few hours.
