So apparently if you echo "export PAN_MESA_DEBUG='gofaster'" > ~/.bashrc it will make pretty much everything faster. Now, if you do that but with "gofaster:gofaster" it will make things even FASTER... (lemmy.world)

...at the expense of breaking some commands here and there. Why is that? How come env values can have this much impact in performance "for free"? This MUST have some caveats, right?
