Are they really worth that though?
They are worth $1 but police claimed people were buying them for $10
Possible reasons for that would be international customers or limited supply
So basically they want maximum sentence, and are claiming the maximum theoretical value for the stolen goods.
"Yeah these coins are selling 10x their value trust me bro"

Yeah, they are collector coins, and the few who got them on ballots are selling for ~ $15 on eBay now.
These coins do sell for a lot more than they're worth. I know a guy who bought 4 limited edition R2D2 coins back in the 80s and they're worth a fortune now
