He had to go become a man for her. She would have married him anyways, even if he had been nothing but a fat potato farmer, but instead she's now married to a complete badass who gets house visits from the king of Gondor and is richer than everyone in the shire combined. I bet you he looks her straight in the eyes when he fucks her now.
