Somehow, when I made an earlier post for this game saying its release date was announced for March 24, 2024, I failed to realize I was writing the post several months after March 24, whoops. I also earlier had something here about them releasing later than the real date in both Japanese and English. It has been brought to my attention that is incorrect: they actually released ahead of schedule in Japanese on March 21, and I do not think I ever found their English anticipated release date.

Was so excited to finally not have to link to Twitter because I could just link to the Nintendo page for the game, until I remembered there are two separate links, one for United States of America and one for Australia and EU, and the Tweet gives you both so I had to use the Twitter link to not give bias to one set (US or AU/EU) and inconvenience the other(s). :( Citing sources is important and it is kind of annoying the source is Twitter.

$19.99 on itch.io, available for Windows, MacOS, and Linux. Appreciate them releasing for three different PC platforms. Free demo also on the linked itch.io page.

I have never played an otome game before, didn't even know that was a category with a name, but I very much enjoyed this game when I first played it years and years ago.

With multiple paths through the school year, determined both by romance choices and academic ones, there is a great depth to the stories of your PC's freshman year and magic school. Each playthrough takes an hour or two, and multiple passes are rewarded.

About the Game

Experience the sweet story of you, reincarnated as otome game “Ring of Lapislazuli” villainess Tiararose, and the neighboring country’s crown prince Aquasteed in an actual Akuyaku Reijou wa Ringoku no Outaishi ni Dekiai Sareru video game. The game is fully voiced by a wonderful cast, and features s unique “What If?” story in addition to Aquasteed’s infatuation.

Story

“I’m inside an otome game I used to play!?”

The protagonist was somehow reincarnated as the otome game “Ring of Lapislazuli” villainess Tiararose. Her story follows that of the game, and her engagement with Lapis Lazuli Kingdom crown prince Heartnight is broken off.

However, neighboring country Marinforest crown prince Aquasteed then proposes to Tiararose, and a sweet series of events that are not supposed to occur in the game unfold!?

Characters

Tiararose Lapis Clamentile (voiced by Mai Fuchigami) – Villainess of the otome game “Ring of Lapislazuli.” The Lapis marquis family is second in authority only after the Lapislazuli royal family.
Aquasteed Marinforest (voiced by Yuuichirou Umehara) – Crown prince of the neighboring country Marinforest, who is studying abroad in Lapislazuli Kingdom.
Heartnight Lapislazuli Lactomut (voiced by Takuya Satou) – Crown prince of Lapislazuli Kingdom. He is Tiararose’s fiance, until…
