Hi! I have a brand new account here.

I was trying to subscribe to some communities but some are giving me trouble from this instance.

Issues: Some communities don't show up when you search for them at https://leminal.space/search?q=&type=Communities&listingType=All&page=1&sort=TopAll

For example if I search for the WalkSpace Community when logged in, I can't find it here at this URL

When I navigate to https://leminal.space/c/walkscape@lemmy.world

For some reason all the posts were hidden (this is a brand new account). After unhiding all the posts by clicking on the eyeball icon, I could then see the posts. Only after doing that/subscribing, can I find the community in the search function.

Also some communities don't show posts at all (except for maybe a mod pinned post)

Some communities have all their posts hidden until I click unhide (on my brand new account), and some communities, no posts at all are coming through to this instance.

Hey! Redditor and moderator there for years, have a couple of communities there as well that i'd love to gradually move here, I really like the vibe here and seems well organized with good rules in place as well as timely server upgrades thanks to seemingly active admins here.

I also noticed that you folks were quick to address the meta threads issue to defederate and overall this server really seems to be the place for me.

I am wondering though, what is the future of this server possibly looking like? If it grows, would you guys be open to expanding it, or is this a hobby-run server?

If this isn't just a side hobby server, I would also love to discuss and explore possible options like community-run server funded and run by the community with a more democratic vote process for future changes and what not.

So what's the vision for this server from the admins long-term if it were to take off?

Threads are making gestures toward federating with ActivityPub. That opens for a ton of new fedi users, but also gives Meta leverage over the policies and access to user information on independent servers.

See the linked post for arguments in favour of defederating from threads.net altogether. My question is in the title, where does Leminal Space stand on this?

Hi all! I'm very new here, mad an account yesterday and used Jerboa without issue. However since last evening I get a connection error when I try to use the app. Any clue what's up? Thank you!

The error I am getting is as followed

SyntaxError: JSON.parse: Unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data

I have attempted to upload the photo using Jerboa and a desktop web browser and using different images of different filetypes to rule out anything on my end but I could still be missing something.

Is anyone else experiencing something similar?

Hello, I'm new here! I was browsing through the Fediverse Observer and I found this instance. I love vaporwave aesthetics, and this domain name is genius! I run a couple other communities on Lemmy and I'd like to make some on here if that's ok. I'm not sure what your policy on community creation is, but I'd love to start some for Vaporwave and Dream Pop.
