Dieselpunk & Decopunk Art - Iron, Smoke, and Rivets

Guidelines

  1. Titles should be in the format "[Title]" by [Artist]
    • If adding the artists social media handle after their name, use [square brackets]
    • If adding a year after the title, use (parenthetical brackets)
    • If posting your own art, preface the title with [OC]
  2. Please include the original source in the post body
  3. This community is meant for showcasing artists' work - this excludes
    • AI generated artwork
    • Screenshots from films or games
  4. Submitting the link from the original source instead of downloading and rehosting is recommended
    • This will ease server stress on smaller lemmy instances
    • /!\ Many mobile apps don't generate previews unless the url ends with a common file extension /!\
    • Therefore, if possible, please strip all parameters after .png, .jpg, etc.
  5. Mark posts as NSFW when necessary (nudity/violence)
  6. Due to the inextricable nature of the dieselpunk artstyle and WWII content:
    • All nazi and nazi-like (example) insignia should be marked NSFW
    • I will clarify that this community has a zero-tolerance policy for nazi sympathy

description from DeviantArt

Back with some vehicle art. :)

I'd been wanting to do a follow-up to the Victorian Deloreon So why not another personal fave? The '89 Batmobile...! :batman:

This is also the first piece that I tried out the Glaze app on glaze.cs.uchicago.edu/ It added a little bit of texturing and... I don't hate it? I tweaked the settings a few times to make it less intrusive, but I think it complements my work nicely actually.

Here's the step by step:

"Batmobile 1889 -PROCESS- by 47ness, Jul 11, 2023 in Visual Art"

'89 Batmobile design by Anton Furst, Batman is the property of DC / Warner Bros.

Happy to have been part of the last season of Love Death + Robots in the episode "Mason's Rats". I'm grateful to Axis Studios Group for inviting me to join a great team filled with talented people.
If you haven't seen it, don't miss LD+R's third season! Streaming on Netflix.

Source: Ready for a firefight (by Eddie Del Rio - ArtStation)

This was done a while ago now. I did a series of these kind of dieselpunk fighter for a project. This little biplane didn't make it. But always thought it was a fun little ship.

Source with more sculptures: Dieselpunk mech sculptures (7 artworks / characters)

Artist website: YUTE Y TOCUYO'S IMACHINARIUM — Rafael Lanfranco

Mixed media sculpture, metal, leather, and resin. 60cmx40cmsx25cms

The bull is a powerful creature. It symbolizes strength, resistance, beauty and resilience. Its also a symbol of fertility and is deeply rooted in our psyche. That is why there is a natural sense of aw when we see a real life bull, being it in a rodeo or a farm. This sculpture is based on a previous artistic print that you can find in this previous post together with other robots. The idea is that Yute and Tocuyo build the Retro Dieselpunk Mech Bull to travel undercover through the valley of the mech bulls, some of them extremely territorial and dangerous.
