I just think it's cool to when indie developers are an active part of the gaming community.

Previously I've been pretty gentle with modding that game - things like SkyUI to make it a bit more PC friendly, utility mods like the one limits soul gems to ONLY being filled with their highest tier (no more wasting a grand by filling it with a mudcrab). Also LockPick Pro to effectively skip lockpicking, cuz I hate Skyrim's (bring back Oblivion's model!)... that's kinda it.

Looking for mods that bring something new to the actual gameplay. I know there are a ton of them - what are your favorites?

In joint efforts with the original creators, Capcom, we’re thrilled to announce the re-release of the original Resident Evil™, the groundbreaking series that heralded the golden age of the survival horror genre!

This iconic classic is now available with all its original content intact, featuring quality of life improvements and enhanced compatibility for modern systems. As part of GOG’s ongoing effort to protect and preserve classic games, Resident Evil is now available on the DRM-free GOG store!

Not that anyone was expecting this to be good for gaming, but this was a good in-depth video on it.

Initial scrolling of the Steam Summer Sale seems pretty lackluster, but digging through the comments sections in other threads, a few gems have stood out, and it doesn't appear we have a thread dedicated to this yet, so post what you think are the best deals here!

Not mandatory ofc, but it'd be helpful if...

  • One game per top level post, so comments stemming from it are focused on on just it.

  • Hyperlink the game title to its Store Page

  • Include both the normal and sale price / %off

  • Include a short blurb about the game - if it's one you've played before, what did you like about it? If you're diving in blind, what grabbed your attention?

Good hunt'n!

I started this as a comment on this post https://feddit.uk/post/13922816

Then I thought, let's just pop them all into a thread.

For some reason this year, all the major mod teams have been producing gold for games going back to the 90s, proving that if you let people mod, your game will never die. With the Steam game sale on, you can get a lot of game for not much money

I install Nvidia drivers using NVCleanstall and leave GE uninstalled since I never really use it. Do driver updates that include game optimizations still apply?

Coming to modern platforms August 1st, from Aspyr. Nice to see all these old games from 5th and 6th gen consoles getting re-released on modern platforms when emulation was basically our only option before.

Eat_my_yarmulke is on a quest to complete the easy treasure trail collection log (OSRS lets players track the drops they get from the game's various activities via logs, which turn green when completed), but they're also operating under multiple self-imposed restrictions. For one thing, they're playing on Ironman Mode, which means they can't do things like trade with other players. Second, they're skilling, meaning they're deliberately keeping their combat level at its lowest possible rank.

So, that means they can't get clue scrolls from other players or from fighting NPCs. They have to restrict themselves to pickpocketing roaming NPC fascists. Even worse, they can't actually complete all the clue scrolls they pick up: some of them might have requirements like "Wear steel armour" that are beyond anyone deliberately keeping their defence stat low.

The cynical among you might be tempted to accuse our poor player of automating some of this hard work, but it's a claim they brush off on Reddit. In response to a player asking "how much the script cost," eat_my_yarmulke responded "First of all, rude. Secondly my Razer Naga Trinity was like 60 bucks at best buy and has held up very well to all the clicking, would recommend," and told another that "The pickpocketing itself would only take like a hundred hours but with completing the clues it's around a thousand for me."
