On the way to work, i need to cross the road, so i use the zebra crossing, traffic slows down, i begin to cross, but a cyclist decides he's overtaking the traffic which has now stopped, missing me by about a foot, im actually a bit dumbfounded, obviously i called him a cockwomble, and some other choice words, but seriously, some people infuriate me beyond belief!!

I have just found £160 in an old wallet that ive not used for 6 months.

Although it's not really a win, the wife said we can use it to pay for paint and decorate the living room.

Note to self, don't be so open when finding spare cash!

Not UK centric, but more active than here, so joining both might be interesting

..what are some of the things i can expect from this place?

I have become very tiresome with how those mods seems to be on some sort of power trip.

His voice is still burned into my brain even now all these years later. Good childhood memories.

Specifically, given the name is "Great Britain", I'm curious: does Northern Ireland compete under the Union Jack? Or are they with the Irish team like they do in rugby union and cricket?

Thoughts?

Asides from what was mentioned in the article, I think the current rules are unforgiving of children who have family abroad whose school holidays don't align.

I don't know if this is too self-promotey to put in the more serious subs so I'm putting it here. I need to blag being able to do the django framework so I spent a week fannying about with it to make this. Feel free to mess about with it, give feedback or repost it on reddit or any other lemmy knock-offs.

There are lots of things that can be put down to personal taste, however I can't let this abomination go.

I am referring to Branston Smooth.

I love Branston Pickle, but I can't get on board with Branston paste. Is there a better example where a manufacturer made an updated version of a food that was objectively worse?

Sunak comes across like the prat he is. “Labor will raise taxes by £2,000 for everybody” regardless of the question. Talking over all the time, not listening to the moderator. Appalling creature. Starmer sympathises a lot with people asking questions without answering them. Skating around or just plainly ignoring questions all the time. I can’t watch this shit a minute longer.

If you think the peak of British cuisine is some pork wrapped in puff pastry, then firstly you’re absolutely right and secondly, your Christmas has come early as Greggs are launching a ‘yard-long’ sausage roll this week.

To celebrate National Sausage Roll Day on June 5 – mark your calendars – the high street bakery chain will be giving fans the chance to get their hands on a yard-long box made up of 17 sausage rolls.

Customers will be able to choose from classic or vegan rolls, and the three-foot long product will cost £15.

There’s an old saying in London – you’re never more than 6ft from a rat and 50m from a Pret a Manger. But the popular high street sandwich chain has struggled in recent years with consumers abandoning ship. With a rising tide of debts, it has now recalled its initial founder, Sinclair Beecham, to the top table in order to steady the ship.

One of its main competitors, Greggs, however has been doing better than ever. So why the huge disparity in the fortunes of these two high street staples? Strong brand partnerships with outlets like Primark, a late-opening store in Leicester Square, and a keenly recognisable brand identity have ensured its continuous rise.

...

The contrasts between the two are clear. If both continue down this path, the Northern delight that is Greggs will likely cement itself at the top of the food chain while Pret’s struggles will only worsen.

I know this is probably a long shot but does anyone know of a non-biased source of all party Manifestos?

I remember some time ago there was a site where people could answer questions on subjects that were important to them and based on those which party is recommended.
