Ive looked around a bit for cheap cameras from sony‘s alpha 7 series and found some 3‘s with the kit lens for less than 500€ or the 4 with lens for around 600€. Are they legit or are they scams/fakes/not working? Whats your advice or experience? On other platforms for used stuff they rarely go below 800 without a kit lens

Do you mean an A7 III with kit lens for 500€ and A7 IV for 600€?

If yes, those numbers are way too low - at least for my market (USA). I would suspect scam/stolen/broken.

That said, if they're close to you and you can meet up to try the cameras out you might score a good deal. If the post is legit, and the cameras aren't broken, these will move fast. How long has the listing been up? If it's been up for more than a day or two and you're in a densely populated area then it's not looking good.

I‘ve looked again and some of them are up a few weeks, but the ones closer to me are kinda better. Just the a7iii body for 550, but this offer has also been up nearly half a year. But they are close enough that I could go there.

Don’t forget to thoroughly check the seller’s profile, and meet in a public space (like a mall) !

If I'm dealing with high value items and cash i always meet at a police station

Can’t decide if this is a joke or not, but to me it sounds as a good idea

It's not. When I sold old video game consoles and tvs, I said I would only meet up outside police stations, and I would say about 60% of the people just didn't respond after that. When I bought a very nice tripod and bike off there I said police station or nothing because the people who say no to that are the people I don't want to have a lot of cash around.
