Honestly im pretty sure every stealth attempt in star wars turns to shit. The only successful one I can think of is maybe some of Kyle Katarns missions, and a single mission in KOTOR 2.
I don't remember a stealth mission not going to shit with Kyle eventually. At least in the games, no idea how it is in any novels or such.
Infiltration of Jabba's palace was pretty thorough and went off as planned.

What about when the Rebels first take control of the shield facility on Endor? Does that count? (They go loud eventually when they defend, of course).
I don't remember a stealth mission in KoTOR 2, but I remember sneaking around the Leviathan as Juhani in the first one.
In fine with forced stealth. As long as it's because you will get absolutely fucked by the guards if you break stealth.
It feels bad when you know that you can just kill everyone easily
Isnβt it still stealth if no one is alive to report it?
Ah, the Kyle Katarn gets the plans for the Death Strar method of stealth. Good stuff.
If a tree falls in the forest, and nobody is left alive to hear it, does it make a sound?
βBoring conversation, anyway.β
I didn't find those sections at the beginning of the game very fun, sort of a trial by fire. I think checkpoints or a save anywhere system would have pretty much solved it though.
IIRC the reason you were being stealthy is because the faction wasn't supposed to know you were there. If you start blasting how will that work story wise?
Dead grunts tell no tales
I would gladly sacrifice the entire concept of storytelling in video games for even something as small as βno more forced stealthβ.
I don't mind it when it's done well, just as some more diverse gameplay to change things up. The problem is that it's often done in the most annoying way possible where it just becomes a dumb timing puzzle that you need to memorize in sections and it ends up being almost impossible to do it right the first time.
