...after an extended period of PETG, and I have to say I think my favorite part is after the print ends and the bed starts to cool off and the snap/crackle/pop of the piece coming off on it's own. Such a pleasant ASMR experience.

Highly recommend..

That snap and crackle is also great to hear as your layers come apart

Then your ambient air while printing is too cold. You need a chamber with >40°C

Hola, that's hot. A chamber I'll have to get at some point

ASA is a bit more audible than PETG, but PETG prints would also become very lose once my bed was cooled down.

Personally, I like when ABS comes in a pack of 6 spools so I can joke about getting 6 pack ABS.

White ABS is a classic

But besides the ASMR is it better than PETG (considering building a fume hood for abs) and what brand.

IMO there's no "best" material, they all have advantages and disadvantages. PLA is very rigid, PETG is UV and temperature resistant, ABS is temperature resistant and dissolves in acetone... ABS is tricky to print though, even with an enclosure. I wouldn't recommend it unless you need the higher temperature resistance or like to tinker.

I manily use PETG because for me it is way stronger and easier to print than PLA (especially Prusa filament)
